AIGI 25MSC Multi-Silicone-Core Aramid Packing
AIGI 25MSC adds multiple resilient silicone-rubber cores to the wear-resisting aramid braid of AIGI 25. The elastic cores give the packing superior memory and shaft stability under the most extreme radial motion and vibration, while keeping leakage under control with minimal gland adjustment.
Product Benefits
- Attacks both problems: Abrasive service and rough shaft running usually arrive together, and each makes the other worse. 25MSC tackles both at once.
- Aramid plus spring cores: The all-aramid braid resists the abrasion while the multiple silicone cores compress and rebound with every shaft excursion.
- Holds its seal: That built-in springiness means the packing holds its seal through vibration that would loosen a conventional braid, so glands stay set longer and leakage stays controlled.
- Made for extremes: It is designed specifically to provide shaft stability in the most extreme radial-motion slurry applications.
Where It's Used
- Slurry and abrasive service: 25MSC seals pumps, mixers and agitators in slurry and abrasive service.
- Heavy industries: Mining, steel, sewage, and pulp and paper are its industries.
- The worst actors: It earns its keep on equipment whose shaft motion has already defeated standard packings.
Good to Know
- Yellow multi-core braid: The braid is aramid fibre around multiple silicone-rubber cores; it covers moderately acidic through alkaline media and, like its siblings, tolerates far higher pressures in reciprocating duty than in rotating service.
- Flush the solids: As with all aramid packings in abrasive duty, a flush helps carry solids away from the stuffing box.
- Family line-up: Within the family, plain AIGI 25 handles normal shaft running and the single-core AIGI 25SC covers moderate motion.
- When to choose it: Choose the multi-core 25MSC when vibration or run-out is the defining problem.
