AIGI 26WMSC Multi-Silicone-Core PTFE Valve Packing
AIGI 26WMSC is a pure, non-hardening PTFE-fibre gland packing reinforced with multiple resilient silicone-rubber cores. The elastic cores give the braid excellent memory, so it keeps sealing even when the shaft moves radially or vibrates. It is a natural choice wherever extreme shaft runout makes ordinary packing leak.
Product Benefits
- Springs inside the braid: Conventional packing gradually loses its grip when a shaft wobbles, forcing repeated gland tightening and eventually leakage. The multiple silicone cores in AIGI 26WMSC act like springs inside the braid, pushing the PTFE back against the shaft after every deflection.
- Minimal gland adjustment: Leakage control stays stable with very little gland adjustment, which means less operator attention and longer packing life.
- Non-hardening pure PTFE: Because the PTFE fibre is pure and non-hardening, the packing stays supple in service instead of glazing or cracking.
- Lasting sealability, easy removal: Sealing performance is preserved over time, and the packing is easier to remove when it is eventually replaced.
Where It's Used
- Pumps, mixers and agitators: This packing is used widely in pumps, mixers and agitators, equipment where long, side-loaded shafts commonly develop severe radial runout.
- Slow-turning shafts: Slow-turning agitator and mixer shafts in particular tend to orbit inside the stuffing box.
- Built to follow motion: The resilient cores are designed to follow exactly that orbiting motion.
Good to Know
- Multi-core AIGI 26W: AIGI 26WMSC is essentially the multi-core version of AIGI 26W: the same white pure-PTFE construction, upgraded with several silicone-rubber cores for maximum resilience.
- Single-core sibling: A single-core sibling (AIGI 26WSC) exists for less severe runout, so the family can be matched to how much shaft motion the equipment actually shows.
- Broad heat and chemical range: The packing withstands high service temperatures and handles a wide range of acids and alkalis, though the silicone cores mean it is not intended for the very strongest chemical extremes.
- Stronger in reciprocating duty: It carries a higher rating in reciprocating service than in rotary duty, which is worth noting when selecting for plunger-type equipment.
