AIGI 5505HZ Large-Runout High-Speed Arrowhook Split Rotary Seal
The AIGI 5505HZ brings together large-runout tolerance and high-speed capability in the patented Arrowhook split rotary seal design. Offered in NBR and FKM versions, it seals large-diameter machinery whose shafts move far more than a conventional seal could follow.
Product Benefits
- Follows large runout: Some machines simply cannot be made to run true, and on those a standard seal wears out or leaks quickly; the 5505HZ is engineered to follow very large shaft runout.
- Low-friction speed: It still runs at speed with low friction.
- No-disassembly install: Like the rest of the Arrowhook family it installs around the shaft with no equipment disassembly, cutting maintenance time dramatically compared with a conventional seal change.
Where It's Used
- Imperfectly aligned machines: Its territory is large-runout, high-speed rotating equipment with big shaft diameters, machinery where alignment is imperfect by nature.
- Downtime-sensitive plants: These are installations where downtime for disassembly is unacceptable.
- Routine-window replacement: It replaces bearing seals on such equipment in place, during a routine maintenance window.
Good to Know
- Two material versions: The 5505HZ-N in NBR serves general conditions and larger diameters, while the 5505HZ-V in FKM serves where temperatures and shaft speeds run considerably higher.
- Shared series character: Both share the low-friction running and quick-install character of the series.
- Select on duty, not sealing: Choose between them on temperature, speed and size rather than on sealing performance.
