AIGI 98 High-Temperature/High-Speed Pump & Valve Packing

AIGI 98 is an interbraid packing made from high-quality carbon-fibre-reinforced flexible graphite tape. Its extreme temperature resistance, self-lubricating nature and high heat dissipation make it a natural fit for the hottest, fastest pumps and valves in heavy process industry.

  • Self-lubricating, cool-running: Flexible graphite is inherently self-lubricating and conducts heat away from the shaft, so 98 runs cool even on high-speed equipment where friction would destroy conventional packing.

  • Dense, resilient braid: This is a black, graphite-based packing; the reinforced flexible-graphite tape gives it a dense, resilient braid that conforms well to worn stuffing boxes.
  • Valve-stem capable: It tolerates very high reciprocating pressures, which is why it doubles as a valve-stem packing.
  • Light gland load: Graphite packings need only light gland load to seal; over-tightening wastes their self-lubricating advantage.
  • Check shaft compatibility: Where electrochemical compatibility with the shaft material matters, confirm the pairing as you would with any carbon or graphite product.
