SuperChem GQM Ceramic-Reinforced Epoxy Coating

SuperChem GQM is a solvent-free, thick-film repair coating built from a ceramic-reinforced, wear-resistant polymer. It rebuilds surfaces that have been eaten away by abrasion, corrosion or chemical attack, restoring worn geometry so equipment can go back to work instead of being scrapped.

Product Benefits

  • Rebuilds worn geometry: GQM's paste-like, fully solidifying body can prefill pits, sand holes, cracks and weld seams and reshape irregular geometry, doing the structural rebuilding that a thin coating cannot.
  • Teams with SQ1 or BSQ1: Used together with SuperChem SQ1 or BSQ1, it turns a worn, pitted component back into a smooth, protected one.
  • Ceramic-reinforced toughness: The ceramic reinforcement gives the cured material excellent resistance to slurry impact and abrasive wear, alongside strong chemical resistance to acids and alkalis.
  • No VOC release: Being solvent-free, it cures completely with no VOC release.

Where It's Used

  • Abrasive-duty equipment: GQM is at home on materials-handling and processing equipment that takes a beating from abrasive media.
  • Typical machines: Applications include conveyors and crushers, hoppers, pumps, separators, mixers, mills and pipelines.
  • Prefiller before topcoats: It is equally useful as a prefiller, levelling out casting defects and weld seams before a protective topcoat is applied.

Good to Know

  • Two-component scrape-on: GQM is mixed at a set ratio and applied by scraping, and it adheres well to almost any substrate.
  • Thick gray build: It is supplied in gray and builds a genuinely thick layer per application.
  • Dry, warm service: It is rated for dry service at moderately elevated temperatures.
  • The rebuilding layer: Think of it as the rebuilding layer of the SuperChem family: for broad, thinner-film protection over the repaired surface, follow up with SQ1 or BSQ1.
