OCM Oil Cleaning Module
The Alfa Laval Oil Cleaning Module (OCM) is a modular oil purification system that continuously removes water, sludge and solid particles from mineral lubricating and hydraulic oils. At its heart is a high-efficiency Alfa Laval disc-stack centrifuge, supplied on a compact, pre-configured skid that is easy to install, operate and maintain.

Where It's Used
- Steam turbines: Continuous cleaning of turbine lubricating oil, with capacity sized to the turbine's total oil charge.
- Hydraulic systems: Hydraulic oil circuits where contamination clogs filters and wears components.
- Steel and paper industries: Cleaning lubricating and hydraulic oils in steel mills and paper machines.
Good to Know
- Five models: The range covers OCM 103, 104, 304, 305 and 206, each with a different cleaning capacity, in mobile or stationary versions.
- Standard equipment: Each unit comprises a disc-stack centrifuge, separator motor, electric heater, feed pump, starter and control unit, and a mobile or stationary frame.
- Separation performance: The system typically removes about 90% of the water and 90% of particles of 5 microns or smaller, along with about 70% of particles of 3 microns or smaller.
- How it runs: Clean oil and separated water discharge continuously, while sludge collects in the bowl and is removed at regular intervals; the module can keep cleaning even while the main equipment is stopped.
- Installation and support: Normally installed in a by-pass loop or tank to tank, and backed by Alfa Laval preventive maintenance, technical support, operator training and genuine spare parts.
