T10 Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

The Alfa Laval T10 is a gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchanger from the Industrial line, built for high throughput and excellent thermal performance. A pack of corrugated plates is compressed in a bolted frame, so heat-transfer area can be matched to the duty simply by adding or removing plates, and the unit opens easily for cleaning.

Product Benefits

  • Capacity that can grow: The T10 is a flexible workhorse. If your process grows, capacity can be raised later by fitting extra plates instead of replacing the whole exchanger.
  • Even flow across the plates: Design features such as CurveFlow distribution areas, OmegaPort noncircular ports and the FlexFlow plate design promote even flow across the plates.
  • Efficient and fouling-resistant: That even distribution improves thermal efficiency and reduces fouling compared with generic plate exchangers.
  • One model, many media: A large selection of plate and gasket types lets a single model cover duties from plain water services to more demanding media.
  • Approvals already in place: Certification to major pressure vessel codes, including ASME and PED, and acceptance by the leading marine classification societies simplify approval in regulated projects.

Where It's Used

  • General heating and cooling: The T10 handles general heating and cooling duties across virtually every industry.
  • Process and utility plants: Typical users include energy and utilities, HVAC and refrigeration, chemicals, food, dairy and beverages, biotech and pharmaceutical plants, and home and personal care production.
  • Heavier process environments: It is equally at home in steel, mining, minerals and pigments, pulp and paper, semiconductor manufacturing, marine and transportation, and water and waste treatment.

Good to Know

  • Wide plate material range: Plates are available in a wide range of materials, from standard stainless steels through high-alloy grades, nickel and titanium.
  • Double-wall option: Double-wall plates can be specified where intermixing of the two fluids must be ruled out.
  • Gaskets matched to the media: Field gaskets come in several elastomer families, so the sealing compound can be matched to the media and operating temperature.
  • Broad operating envelope: The frame and pressure plate are epoxy-painted carbon steel, and the design covers duties from deep vacuum up to demanding pressures and both low sub-zero and high temperatures.
  • Three key choices: When specifying, the key choices are plate material, gasket compound and plate count. Your supplier can size these against the actual duty.
