TS6M Gasketed Plate Heat Exchanger

The Alfa Laval TS6M is a compact gasketed plate heat exchanger from the Industrial line built around a relatively short plate. That geometry is intended for duties with short temperature programs and low pressure drop, where the fluids need only a modest temperature change. It brings plate-exchanger efficiency to services a tubular unit would handle far less compactly.

  • Very low pumping cost: Short plates keep the flow path brief, so the unit transfers heat effectively while consuming very little pumping pressure.
  • Ideal when pressure drop is tight: That is a real advantage on duties where the available pressure drop is the limiting factor, and compared with generic exchangers you get the required duty without oversizing pumps.
  • Opens for service: The gasketed pack opens for inspection and cleaning.
  • Adjustable heat transfer area: Heat transfer area can be adjusted by changing the plate count, and a range of plate and gasket types is available.

  • Short temperature programs: It suits heating and cooling services where the temperature change is small but flow must pass with minimal resistance.

Good to Know

  • 316-type plates: Plates are supplied in 316-type stainless steel, with gaskets in NBR, EPDM, FKM and HeatSeal elastomers to cover a broad band of fluids and temperatures.
  • Epoxy-painted frame: The frame and cover are epoxy-painted carbon steel.
  • EN flanges with equivalences: Connections follow EN flange practice, with equivalences to the corresponding GOST and GB/T standards, which simplifies specification across international projects.
  • Gasket and cleaning plan: As with its siblings, plan gasket elastomer choice around fluid chemistry and temperature, and make use of the openable pack for routine cleaning.
