Cam-Tite Severe Service Bonnet

The Cam-Tite Severe Service Bonnet gives the Cam-Tite ball valve a true stuffing box for its most difficult applications. It builds on the extended bonnet's conventional bottom stem seal and adds stacked Chevron V-ring packing above it, creating a modular, multi-stage stem-sealing system.

  • Primary plus backup: The severe service bonnet keeps the proven bottom stem seal as the primary barrier and backs it up with Chevron V-ring packing at the top, so containment never depends on a single seal.
  • Optional lantern ring: A lantern ring with a bonnet tap adds further flexibility to the arrangement.
  • Lubricate, pad or monitor: That tap can carry a compatible lubricant to the packing, provide an inert gas pad between the seals, or serve as a leak-detection point.

Where It's Used

  • Difficult media: This bonnet is intended for difficult services: media that are hazardous, aggressive or otherwise unforgiving of stem leakage.
  • True stuffing box preferred: It suits sites where the engineering preference is for a true stuffing box rather than a single-seal arrangement.
  • Standard pressure classes: It is offered across the standard industrial pressure-class range of the Cam-Tite line, so the same sealing approach applies from moderate to more demanding pressure duties.

  • Built on the extended bonnet: Because the design is modular and based on the extended bonnet, the stem seal sits away from the flowing media and the arrangement fits the wider Cam-Tite bonnet family.
  • Serviced from the top: Packing can be serviced from the top without redesigning the valve.
  • Specify the tap early: If leak monitoring or gas padding is part of your containment plan, specify the lantern ring and bonnet tap at ordering time.
  • One connection, three uses: That tap is the connection point for lubrication, inert-gas padding or a leak-off line.
