Fabri-Valve C45 Ductile Iron Knife Gate Valve

The Fabri-Valve C45 is a ductile iron knife gate valve built for economical, bubble-tight isolation of water, wastewater, and slurry lines. Its defining feature is a family of patented pop-in replaceable seats that keep the sealing surface out of the flow stream, so the valve stays tight even as the media wears on the rest of the line.

Product Benefits

  • Seat you can replace: Knife gate valves in abrasive service usually fail at the seat first, and an integral seat means replacing the whole valve. The C45 uses patented pop-in seats that can be swapped in the field.
  • Material matched to the media: Seats are offered in rubbers, polyurethane, UHMW-P, TFE, and hard-faced metal, so the sealing element can be chosen for the fluid it actually handles.
  • Long seat life: The large seat cross section sits away from the flow stream. That keeps it out of the abrasive path and makes it last significantly longer than a seat exposed directly to the slurry.
  • Economical construction: A solid ductile iron body delivers dependable isolation without the cost of a full stainless steel valve.
  • Tested before shipment: Every unit is shell, seat, and cycle tested before it leaves the factory.

Where It's Used

  • Water and wastewater: The C45 is at home in water and wastewater treatment lines and in general slurry handling, where suspended solids would quickly damage a conventional gate or butterfly valve.
  • Abrasive services: It is a natural pick where operators want long seat life and the ability to restore bubble-tight shutoff with a simple seat change rather than a valve replacement.
  • Manual or automated: Actuation options run from handwheel, lever, and bevel gear to pneumatic cylinders and electric actuators, so the valve fits manually operated headworks and automated process lines alike.

Good to Know

  • Corrosion-resistant trim: The body is ductile iron (carbon steel is also available) with a stainless steel gate and stem, so the parts that touch the media most are corrosion-resistant.
  • Reliable stem seal: Larger sizes come standard with energized cored packing for a more dependable seal around the stem.
  • Hotter service option: High-temperature fastener options extend the valve into hotter duties.
  • The seat is the decision: When specifying, the main choice is integral cast metal for simplicity, or a replaceable resilient or hard-faced seat matched to the abrasiveness and chemistry of your line.
  • Selection support: Fluindo can help match the seat material to your service conditions.
