ITT Goulds Pumps
3196 i-FRAME Process Centrifugal Pump
The Goulds 3196 i-FRAME is the world's most installed ANSI process pump: a single-stage, open-impeller centrifugal pump built to the ANSI B73.1M standard. Its i-FRAME power end and back pull-out design have made it the benchmark for reliable, low-maintenance chemical and industrial process pumping.
Product Benefits
- ANSI interchangeability: An ANSI-standard pump means dimensional interchangeability: a 3196 drops into an existing ANSI installation without re-piping or re-working the baseplate.
- i-FRAME power end: On top of that standard, the 3196 adds an engineered bearing frame backed by an extended warranty, plus TaperBore and BigBore seal chambers that improve the environment around the mechanical seal.
- Proven installed base: The sheer size of its installed base is itself a benefit: parts availability, service familiarity and documented performance are all easier to come by than for less common designs.
- Back pull-out design: Maintenance crews can service the wet end without disturbing piping.
Where It's Used
- General process duties: As the base model of the Goulds ANSI family, the 3196 covers general chemical and industrial process duties.
- Transfer and circulation: Typical services are transfer, circulation and feed duties across a plant.
- An expandable family: Within the same family, purpose-built variants extend it to non-clog solids, high temperatures and low-flow services while sharing the same platform.
Good to Know
- Broad material range: Materials range from ductile iron through CD4MCuN and Alloy 20 to Hastelloy B and C, so the same hydraulic design can be matched to progressively harsher chemistry.
- Temperature capability: It handles moderately hot services as standard, and with an optional finned oil cooler it extends to notably higher temperatures.
- Shared power end: The i-FRAME power end is shared across the wider family of Goulds process pumps, including the CV 3196, HT 3196, LF 3196, 3198, 3796 and NM 3196, and the CV, HT and LF variants are built from the same parts except for the casing and impeller.
- Smaller spares inventory: For a multi-pump plant, that interchangeability compounds into a much smaller spares inventory.
