ITT Goulds Pumps
3299 Heavy-Duty Lined Chemical Pumps
The Goulds 3299 is a heavy-duty, virgin PFA-lined, magnetically driven sealless chemical pump built for hot, high-pressure corrosive services. PFA offers close to universal chemical resistance, and a dual containment shell adds a second barrier between aggressive fluids and the outside world.
Product Benefits
- Handles hot corrosives: Where ETFE-lined pumps reach their thermal limits, the 3299's transfer-molded virgin PFA lining keeps working, making it the choice for hot acids and oxidizers that defeat both metal pumps and lighter-duty lined designs.
- Zero leakage: Sealless magnetic drive means zero leakage and zero emissions, meeting the strictest environmental regulations.
- Dual containment: The distinctive safeguard is dual containment: a PTFE inner liner backed by a carbon-fiber-reinforced outer shell provides a secondary method of containment should the primary liner ever fail.
- Easy ANSI retrofit: Because it is built to ANSI dimensions, it also makes an easy retrofit for problem ANSI pumps that keep leaking or corroding.
Where It's Used
- Harshest bleach chemistries: Typical services are chlorine dioxide, sodium hypochlorite and hot acids, the harshest chemistries in and around a bleach plant.
- Hot and corrosive at once: It is aimed at duties where both temperature and corrosivity are high at the same time.
- Above the 3298 family: Fluindo supplies the 3299 for the pulp and paper industry, where it covers the hot-corrosive niche above the 3298 family.
Good to Know
- PFA-lined construction: The one-piece ductile iron casing is transfer-molded with a generous thickness of virgin PFA, the shaft-and-impeller assembly is likewise PFA-lined steel in one piece, and SafeGlide silicon carbide bearings carry the rotor.
- Powerful magnetic coupling: The magnetic coupling pairs Neodymium Iron Boron drive magnets with Samarium Cobalt driven magnets in a non-slip synchronous drive.
- Two configurations: Both frame-mounted and close-coupled configurations are available, so the pump can match existing installation practice.
- Check dry-run protection: As with any magnetic-drive pump, confirming dry-run and process-upset protection during selection is time well spent.
