ITT Goulds Pumps

3393 High Pressure, Multistage Ring Section Pumps

The Goulds 3393 is a radially split, segmented-casing multistage ring-section pump for demanding high-pressure duties such as boiler feed and desalination. Its defining feature is an integrated one-piece diffuser and interstage casing, which cuts hydraulic losses and keeps the rotor precisely aligned, lowering both energy and maintenance costs.

Product Benefits

  • One-piece diffuser casing: Casting the diffuser and interstage casing as one piece removes joints where hydraulic energy would otherwise be lost, so the pump converts more of its input power into pressure.
  • Simpler alignment: The same integration simplifies alignment during assembly and overhaul, which shortens maintenance time and improves rebuild quality.
  • Serviceable balance drum: Axial thrust is carried by an involute balance drum with a dual step surface that remains accessible and removable from the discharge side, a practical detail that makes servicing this normally awkward component far easier.
  • Low vibration: Enclosed, investment-cast, dynamically balanced impellers keep vibration low across the operating range.

Where It's Used

  • High-pressure duties: Typical services are boiler feed, shower and spray duty, cogeneration, and high-pressure cleaning.
  • Proven in desalination: The pump is well proven in demanding applications such as desalination.
  • Power and process plants: These are the high-pressure workhorse duties of power houses and process plants.

Good to Know

  • Flexible configurations: The pump is offered in end-suction and radial-suction configurations, with radial nozzles positionable in quarter-turn increments and a dual-volute discharge casing to balance radial loads.
  • Matched hydraulics: At least two impeller designs are available per pump size, so hydraulics can be matched closely to the duty.
  • High-grade materials: Construction materials are chrome and duplex or super-duplex stainless steels, with casing wear rings standard and impeller wear rings optional.
  • Certified construction: Raised-face flanges follow ANSI/ISO or EN/DIN practice, and the pump carries CE marking and ATEX certification.
