3410 Small Capacity Double Suction Pumps
The Goulds Model 3410 is a small-capacity, single-stage, double-suction pump that pairs a double-suction impeller with a dual-volute casing for balanced, low-maintenance operation. It brings the reliability advantages of the split-case double-suction concept to more modest water duties, and NSF-certified constructions are available for potable service.
Product Benefits
- Easy life for bearings: Axial thrust is largely cancelled by the double-suction impeller and radial loads are evened out by the dual volute, so bearings and seals lead an easy life across the operating range.
- Inspection without repiping: The horizontally split casing places both suction and discharge in the lower half, meaning the top half comes off for inspection without disturbing the pipework.
- Modern i-FRAME power end: The i-FRAME bearing housing adds a modern, robust power end to a proven hydraulic design.
Where It's Used
- Mill water duties: In pulp and paper mills the 3410 covers mill water supply, cooling tower duty, wash, waste and raw water, filter backwash, and fire pump service.
- Industrial and municipal water: The same design serves industrial, municipal, and marine cooling and water systems.
- Potable-water ready: Certified constructions are available where drinking water is involved.
Good to Know
- Stainless impeller standard: The enclosed double-suction impeller is stainless steel as standard, in casings of cast iron or all-stainless construction depending on the water quality.
- Seals and lubrication: Mechanical seals are standard with packing optional, and grease lubrication is standard with oil optional.
- ASME and DIN flanges: Flanges are offered in both ASME and DIN patterns with higher-rated options, so the pump adapts readily to either piping standard.
