3996 In-Line Process Pumps
The Goulds 3996 is a vertical in-line process pump that mounts directly in the pipeline, much like a valve. Precision rabbet locks mean no field alignment is ever required, and integral pump bearings, not the motor, carry all hydraulic and mechanical loads.

- Space-saving installation: In-line mounting saves floor space and eliminates the baseplate, grouting and laser-alignment work a horizontal pump demands.
- Standard C-face motors: Because the 3996 is flexibly coupled with its own bearing frame, it runs on standard NEMA C-face motors and never asks the motor bearings to absorb pump loads, a common weak point of simpler in-line designs.

- Accessible in the rack: The back pull-out arrangement with a fully open impeller keeps maintenance access straightforward even though the pump lives in the pipe rack.

- Unusually broad materials: The material list covers ductile iron, 316SS, CD4MCuN, Alloy 20, Monel, Nickel, Hastelloy B and C, and Titanium, so the same pump covers everything from utility water to aggressive acids.
- ANSI-style sealing: Shaft sealing follows ANSI B73.1M practice with TaperBore PLUS and BigBore seal chambers.
- 3196 parts commonality: All parts except the casing are interchangeable with the Goulds 3196 STX and MTX, so plants running the 3196 family already stock most of what the 3996 needs.
- Drop-in flanges: Standard ANSI flanges, with a heavier class optional, let it slot into existing lines.
