ITT Goulds Pumps
HSUL Submersible Pumps
The HSUL from ITT Goulds Pumps is a submersible hydro-solids pump with a fully recessed impeller, built for sump and wet-well service. Because the impeller sits out of the main flow path, the pump can pass any solid that fits through its suction and discharge, including large, stringy, fibrous and abrasive material.
Product Benefits
- Clog-resistant design: Ordinary sump pumps clog or wear quickly when the liquid carries rags, fiber or grit. The recessed impeller of the HSUL keeps most solids away from the rotating parts.
- Less wear, fewer blockages: Difficult material passes through with far less risk of blockage and premature wear.
- Fewer pump pulls: The result is fewer unplanned pump pulls from the wet well.
- Leaner spares inventory: The HSUL shares parts with the horizontal HS and the vertical cantilever VHS pumps, so a mill running several configurations can hold a leaner spares inventory.
Where It's Used
- Pulp and paper service: Fluindo offers the HSUL for pulp & paper service, where it drains the debris-laden pits found around a mill.
- Typical mill sumps: Wood yard sumps, reclaim sumps, sludge pits and general drainage sumps are its natural duties.
- Handles rough debris: Its ability to swallow bark, fiber bundles and grit makes it a natural fit for this work.
Good to Know
- Free-standing installation: A concentric casing with bolt-on legs, a flanged suction and a horizontal discharge let the pump stand freely on the sump floor.
- Optional slide rail: An optional slide-rail assembly makes retrieval and maintenance easier.
- Certified motors: Motors are UL and CSA approved explosion-proof and conform to NEMA, IEEE, ANSI and NEC standards.
- Operating envelope: The pump suits warm liquids at moderate pressures and delivers generous flows for its class.
