ITT Goulds Pumps

JCU Submersible Pumps

The JCU from ITT Goulds Pumps is a heavy-duty submersible slurry pump built for tough, abrasive sump applications. Its impeller design strikes an optimum balance between solids-handling ability, wear resistance and efficiency, so it keeps moving gritty slurries that would punish a general-purpose pump.

Product Benefits

  • Extra-thick wall sections: Abrasive sumps destroy lightly built pumps: walls thin out, clearances open up and performance falls away. The JCU counters this with extra-thick wall sections.
  • Economical wear parts: A replaceable suction liner and an integral strainer concentrate wear in parts that are economical to renew rather than in the pump body itself.
  • Performance that lasts: The impeller is engineered for solids handling, wear life and efficiency together, so the pump holds its performance longer between overhauls.
  • Explosion-proof motors: Motors carrying UL and CSA approvals add a margin of safety in demanding plant environments.

Where It's Used

  • Pulp and paper mills: Fluindo supplies the JCU for pulp & paper mills, where it takes on some of the harshest sump duties on site.
  • Typical services: Fly ash, mill scale, lime sumps and sludge pits are its listed duties.
  • Purpose-built for slurry: These services combine grit and sludge in ways that call for a purpose-built slurry pump rather than a general drainage unit.

Good to Know

  • Slide-rail option: The pump stands on three cast-on legs and can be fitted with an optional slide-rail assembly, which makes routine removal and reinstallation in the sump far simpler.
  • Wide material range: Options run from cast iron through high-chrome white iron (HC600) and CD4MCu duplex to 316 stainless steel, letting you match the wetted parts to the abrasiveness and corrosivity of the slurry.
  • Motor standards: Motors conform to NEMA, IEEE, ANSI and NEC standards.
