ITT Goulds Pumps

VIT Vertical Industrial Turbine Pumps

The VIT from ITT Goulds Pumps is a vertical industrial turbine pump built around a fabricated discharge head, flanged column and flanged multistage bowl assembly. It is the workhorse of the Goulds vertical turbine family, covering a broad range of high-flow water and process pumping services.

Product Benefits

  • Small surface footprint: Vertical turbines shine where large volumes must be lifted from wells, pits or intakes with a small surface footprint.
  • Lower installation cost: Built-in alignment and simple piping reduce installation cost and downtime.
  • Stageable hydraulics: The flexible, high-efficiency bowl assembly can be staged to match the head the system actually needs.
  • Corrosion and abrasion ready: For corrosive and abrasive liquids, alloy construction with an external flush of critical wear areas keeps the pump serviceable in conditions that would erode a standard machine.
  • API 610 configurable: The design is also configurable per API 610 where a service demands it.

Where It's Used

  • Pulp and paper mills: Fluindo offers the VIT for pulp & paper mills, where it covers the big water systems.
  • Typical systems: Duties include cooling water, river water intake, condenser circulating water, fire service and reclaimed water.
  • Steady high-volume duty: These are steady, high-volume services where efficiency and dependable availability matter most.

Good to Know

  • Impeller and shaft options: Impellers come in semi-open and enclosed forms, with keyed impellers fitted as standard for API applications and for hotter services; stainless shafting is standard.
  • API thrust pot: The fan-air-cooled thrust pot with cast steel body meets the API standard.
  • Standardized hydraulics: Because the VIT shares its bowl assembly with the VIC can-type and VIS submersible pumps, a plant can standardize hydraulics across different installation styles.
