Center-Line Butterfly Valve

The SLV Center-Line Butterfly Valve is a concentric, resilient-seated butterfly valve in a slim wafer body. It offers economical quarter-turn isolation and throttling for water, air and other low-pressure media, with a rubber seat that closes to a zero-leakage shutoff class.

Product Benefits

  • Light and compact: For large flows at modest pressures, a centre-line butterfly valve delivers tight shutoff at a fraction of the weight, face-to-face length and cost of a gate or ball valve.
  • Zero-leakage seat: The resilient seat wraps the disc edge completely, achieving the highest leak-tightness rating under the relevant European test standard.
  • Standard top flange: The standardised top flange means the same valve can be fitted with a handle, gear operator, or an electric or pneumatic actuator.
  • Automate later: A manually operated valve today can be automated later without changing the valve itself.

Where It's Used

  • Water and wastewater: The series serves water supply and wastewater treatment.
  • HVAC to shipboard: HVAC circuits, food processing, textile mills, power stations and shipboard systems are equally common homes.
  • Isolation and throttling: It is at home isolating a pump, balancing a cooling loop or throttling general low-pressure process flow.
  • Space-saving wafer body: The wafer body clamps between pipe flanges, keeping installed length and weight low, a real advantage in pump rooms and plant rooms where space is scarce.

Good to Know

  • Body materials: Bodies range from grey and ductile cast iron to carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Disc materials: Discs run from ductile iron and nickel-aluminium alloy through the common stainless grades up to duplex, super-austenitic and Hastelloy alloys for aggressive media.
  • Seat elastomer decides: Options include NBR, EPDM, PTFE, VITON and silicone rubber, and the choice sets both the chemical compatibility and the temperature window, so it deserves the most attention at selection time.
  • Seat is the wear part: Throttling duty and abrasive media shorten seat life, and replacement seats restore the valve to as-new tightness.
  • Standards and size range: Designed and tested to widely used international butterfly-valve standards, the series also spans a very broad size range, from small branch lines to large mains.
