Electric Center-Line Butterfly Valve

The SLV Electric Center-Line Butterfly Valve mounts an electric actuator on the proven concentric, resilient-seated butterfly valve. It gives automated on/off or modulating control of water and low-pressure process flow, with the same zero-leakage-class shutoff as the manual series.

Product Benefits

  • Saves labour: Where valves are large, remote or frequently operated, electric actuation saves labour and brings the valve under control-system command.
  • On/off with feedback: The actuator range covers straightforward open/close units with position feedback.
  • Intelligent regulating: Regulating versions follow a standard analogue signal, giving one platform for both isolation and flow-control duties.
  • Keeps the base valve's virtues: The valve beneath is the standard centre-line series: a compact wafer body, resilient seat with top-class leak-tightness, and an economical price for the flow it passes.
  • Neat, serviceable package: The actuator mounts through a standardised interface, keeping the assembly tidy and easy to service.

Where It's Used

  • Water and HVAC plant: Typical duties are automated isolation and flow adjustment in water supply and treatment, HVAC plant, and general low-pressure process systems.
  • Where hands-on is impractical: It covers the same territory as the manual centre-line valve, wherever hands-on operation is impractical.
  • Balancing and control loops: Modulating versions suit balancing and simple flow-control loops driven from a building or plant control system.
  • Voltage options: Several supply voltages, including a low-voltage DC option, let the actuator match the electrical infrastructure at hand.

Good to Know

  • Valve construction: Valve construction mirrors the centre-line series: bodies from cast iron through stainless steel, and discs from ductile iron and nickel-aluminium alloy to stainless grades.
  • Seat materials: Seats are available in elastomers such as NBR, EPDM, PTFE, VITON and silicone rubber, and as with the manual valve the seat material is the key compatibility decision for medium and temperature.
  • On-off or regulating: Choose between on-off actuators, available with active or passive feedback, and the intelligent regulating type according to what the control loop really needs.
  • Simpler where possible: On-off units are simpler where throttling is not required.
  • Check the seat: Like any resilient-seated valve, the seat remains the wear part, so actuated valves that cycle often should have seat condition checked as part of routine maintenance.
